I rented Ladder 49 from Blockbusters and it started ok witht the piracy warning etc then just stopped. We went back to blockbusters and actually brought a copy but the same thing happened. The strange thing is it plays on both our laptops!! Really annoying anybody have a clue why this is happening?

Is it the right region code for your dvd player?

How do I check that? That was my first thought but why would blockbusters be renting out dvd's that are not the right region? Or am I being naive here?????

Look on the dvd box - it will have the Region Code somewhere.

often laptops are less sensative than good quality dvd players. I have a really good dvd player in the living room which will not play damaged / scratched dvds, however the cheap piece of **** player in the bedroom will play almost anything!
