HELP a dynamic link library

F:/windows system32\nvcpl.dll a dynamic link library (dll) initialization routine failed I keep getting this message popping up when I start windows I am on xp. what do's this mean and can I repair or stop this. thanx

Get the most up to date Nvidia drivers at http://www.nvidia.com/page/home Use the drop down box to choose your video chip set or card and get the latest drivers. Put them on a reserved folder on C:/

Next, start your computer in safe mode so it loads basic horrid looking drivers. Then uninstall any Nvidia drivers you have and install the fresh drivers downloaded from Nvidia.com. Remember to check out Windows update to get any new drivers or patch updates.

To uninstall your driver find Device Manager (Control Panel - System or similar, depending on your Op Sys). Select the Nvidia adapter and uninstall it by right click - remove from system. Then do a refresh and it should plug & play and find it and ask for the drivers. Select the "specific location" option and "Have Disc" button and drill down to the files you downloaded from Nvidia.

Thanx hippy sounds complicated but I will give it ago.

I just downloaded the latest driver hope its the correct one, installed it & restarted it, I didn't start in safe mode or uninstall the last driver, and every thing seems okay will this be alright do you think. thanx

nVidia have whats known as the detonator drivers which are a collection of drivers for all the nVidia chip sets (GeForce 1, 2, 3, 4 GX etc) all packaged into one executable for that operating system. You just download the appropriate one (eg for Windows XP) then run it and the correct driver will automatically be installed. Simple as.
