Hi there sorry to have to say this but all your music on wma is not commpatable with i tunes, you will have to copy all your cd,s again directly into i tunes. in my opinion and now doubt a lot of you will disagree the i pod is the best mp3 player there is but that is the only fault that it has

thanks for your answer. i have now managed to transfer them but its a slow process. many thanks
knobbynonuts is entirely wrong. iTunes will happily import and convert your .wma files to .mp3 or .aac for you (more iPod-happy formats). Simply goto file->add to library, and find the folder that contains your music that you have on windows media player. Click OK and it'll be added to iTunes and converted for you.

If your .wma music is protected however (with DRM), then you will have to do exactly as knobbynonuts says, which isn't Apple's fault, just the fault of DRM systems.
