I am having trouble getting to grips with kazaa lite. This is the first time I've tried to use it - I've managed the search bit, and have downloaded what I want, but when I try to put it onto cd, I keep getting 'this cd is full' - even though it's a brand new 700mb one. I may need some basic instruction - feel sure someone out there can help!!

Are you using cd writing software to burn the files to the disk?
Question Author
I think I am! But how do I know?
My pc came with NTI File CD for writing to cdrw's, and NTI CD2000 for writing cdr's; they self-install from the disk. IF you didn't get these or anything THEN you should get Nero or similar which you can google and buy online, ELSE goto pcworld or similar and buy there. :-)
Im certainly no expert, but this might help.I use Windows XP Home and had the same problem about 2 weeks ago.I spent hours trying to find out what the problem was,but without success.A friend of mine suggested I download a new version of Windows Media Player, which I did,and I haven't had the problem since.I have absolutely no idea what the original problem was,but my Kazaa Lite is now fine.
you dont say what you are trying to put on cd. some files on the kazaa network are too big to go on cd. If it is an iso file you will need to burn it as an iso image rather than dragging and dropping the file onto the cd. If the file is a movie you may need to split it or cut the credits of the end to get it to fit.
Right click the file then select "properties". Amongst other information will be its size. If it exceeds 700 MB then it will not fit on 1 CD.
I agree with answerbok. I like Nero for cd burning as it has a friendly user-interface. If a file is dragged and dropped onto a cd drive with a blank cd in it, all I get is a message saying that the file cannot be written, and to check if the disk is full (on Window Millenium at least, don't know 'bout XP). Is that what you did?

Yes that is exactly what I did. But I have done it before - managed to copy a game from cd to hard drive then onto a blank cd, and I couldn't have done that without software could I? The files I'm trying to download are no bigger than 3mb.
I use KazAa-Lite and Nero. No problems at all. You say that you are having problems with K/Lite, but from what you say, the problem is only with burning, not KazAa. KazAa is giving you the download, job done. I agree with answerbok and carlos. Nero is almost foolproof and worth investing in.The message you receive sounds to me like an error in what you are doing rather than software problems, because you said that you have burnt things before. The answer will be simple, but finding it is something else.It may sound silly, but the CD could be full even though you think it is not.I once had a new CD and got a similar message saying it was full. Try another disc?
easy cd creator is good too. and occasionaly new cd's dont work. especially if they are cheap ones. i got a box of 10 from tiny for 3 once. 6 off them didnt work.good luck anyway.
