I went on holiday and whilst away they've been 'messing' with my machine at work and now i get back to find that the file menu is missing from explorers. if i click 'start', 'run' and type 'c:\' then i get a browser up but with no file menu at the top. also happens if i right click on 'my computer' and click 'run' but fine if i right click then click 'explore'. Windows 2000. Yes i've tried restoring defaults AND tried making all folders like current one. Help!

Wotcha darth, is it just your machine or the whole company's? Some cheeky IT bod may have put a group policy in which hides the menu bar.

Yo j2b - no just my machine - our security policy here is a joke and someone's pi$$ed around with it in my absence. Rebuilt the profile in the end and it worked fine (though i have to re-customise everything!) cheers.
