Are these any good? My fiance keeps hankering after a plasma one, which is way too expensive, but I've seen an LCD version in Argos for 379.99 which is much cheaper. They are both HD but is there much difference between LCD and plasma?

I have just bought an lcd 42" t,v, and from what I learn't about them before I purchased it would appear that lcd is faster than plasma, also one site said lcd was the future and not plasma. I am extremely pleased with mine, its an LG brand and it keeps up with fast action sport etc without blurring, if you go into comets or currys you will notice the blur on plasma. go on the web to kelkoo and type in lcd t.v and there is a helpful page that explains the difference and you can compare prices. check the refresh rate and pixel size, the more the better. beware of deals that are throwing in a dvd player or whatever as they are probably trying to get rid of older technology sets. also some plasma screens are just screens, you have to buy a box of tricks to plug into the set to receive stations of any sort.
good luck,
alf.
