I have a tv license for my room at my student halls does this cover if I put a tv in the lounge aswell or do i need another license?

You can have as many televisions on one licence as you like, provided they are all in your own accommodation. So, your bedroom and your lounge - one licence.

Regardless of how many people use the lounge.
