Help someone

When I ran my AVG free edition it came up with this message in red - Trojan Horse Downloader Genberic2.DBS' - what is this and how do I get rid of it ? I have just put in the new AVG 7.5 free edition.

How did I get this threat?

Trojans and other types of nasties come from infected emails, infected files, web sites... I think I read somewhere that an unprotected PC can get a virus within minutes of connecting to the internet.

Run an online scan here: http://www.ewido.net/en/onlinescan/
and here http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ and that should clear your system. Also, download and install Windows Defender (www.microsoft.com/defender) which is a good bit of software to have!

AVG has located the virus/trojan there should be no further scan required. There should have been the option to move it to the virus vault where it can be deleted.
If AVG finds a virus, I usually run some other scans just to make sure there's nothing else AVG didn't manage to find!

Plus I believe AVG free is stopping in January 07 :(

Thanks for your answer - when I went the AVG Virus Vault and it showed all the dates when the Trojan Horse was identified - do I press the second button at the top which says 'press button to delete selected objects from the AVG Virus Vault, a safe virus quarantine'? I am not sure and am scared to do anything to them - Help
