I want to buy a decent laser pointer, its 10mW and a class 3 laser. Does anyone know what the health risks would be? apart from pointing it at someones eyes. Would it burn skin or anything? Because I want a decent one but not one thats dangerous.

A class 3 laser of 10mW falls into the Class 3b variety. Class 3a lasers are up to 5mW. There is no risk of damage to skin or anything else from your laser. There is minimal risk if you shined it in someones eye, but the chances are their blink reflex would protect them before any damage occured.
