I have a Cannon BJS 300. It is very noisy when printing...a high pitched metallic scrapping scream. It is really annoying. Also, it takes forever to start up when I press the print icon. Is this a thing with Cannon?

Its common with all slightly older printers and unfortunately there is very little that can be done about it. Why it takes so long to start printing is that it refreshes the ink jets just before printing which can take a while each time if the printer has been idle for a while.
