How to rotate an AVI file

I have some videoclips that were taken with a camera on its side. They are regular AVI files, and I wondered if anyone knows of a (preferably free) piece of software that I can use to change them to the correct orientation, or if there is an easier way.

Thanks xyzzy. Worked perfectly :) Out of interest, is there a correct way to pronounce your nick? I've been calling you Zizzy, mentally... ;o)

thx shybearuk..been asked that b4 so for ne1 interested 'zizzy' is the general concensus and happy with that.. why this odd name chosen is because when trying to get a username with Yahoo it says 'someone already has the name you chose' an hour later my original choice of 'A1' has lengthened to 'supercalafragilistic' and still some one got it already so there came about the xyzzyplugh thing;(now changed to xyzzy@bok due to an update) also it's a magic word from Crowther's Adventure, q.g. [which google]. :-)
