Kazaa download speed

what effects the speed something downloads on kazaa and how can i speed it up?

Although (according to Kazaa) it can be influenced by your rating (if more people dl off you, then in theory you should get faster speeds), I suspect that the biggest obstacle to fast speeds is a combination of your connection and (mainly) the connections you are downloading from. Obviously you can't do much about the latter. If you are using Kazaa and not the "Lite" version, you may want to consider switching - no spyware on the Lite version, and you are set as "master" all the time. It also includes a download manager that can be set to search for the fastest available dl source.

Alternately switch to WinMX which is a far better P2P system altogether........you can get much more control over your downloads and can automatically set it to search for more sources to download from.

users of winmx, downloads are faster and more likely if you got loads of music in your sharefile - i did a fresh start with a new folder and getting hits was tough, so i put all my mp3's in the folder and instant success. :-)

I agree with everything said (except using winmx) there is also a kazaa speed up utility which essentially automatically searches for more sources of the file you are downloading and it does work.

Lots of people suggested to me that I use Kazaa lite but in my experience its actually slower. I have had very slow download times since using KL.

weird that. i moved from winmx to kazaa lite and found kazaa was faster.
