Can you surf the internet from the same computer with different IP addresses? I have read about proxy servers, is this a solution to the problem? Ie surf anonymously.

Is there a way to look like Im surfing from an IP address from say south england, then change something somehow and look like im surfing from say north england?

Probably not that precisely, unless you own your own VPN in the south and live in the north.

If you have a computer at home with a broadband connection, you can set up a VPN server there, and leave it always on. Then if you were at work or a coffee shop or somewhere, you could tunnel into your home computer and surf from there. That way the computer you're immediately surfing from and its network wouldnt know what you were doing, but your regular ISP at home and all further netoworks would: it's like you were surfing from home.

Another option is tor. This is an anonymous, encrypted network. It does slow your browsing down though, since it has to route through different servers. And you have no real choice of where you come out to the internet. Whenever I've tried it I tend to be in Germany, I think because thats where most of the tor servers in this part of the world.

I use Hide IP Platinum. More often than not you are surfing from China! www.hide-ip-soft.com
That product is not as effective as Tor. It only slightly anonymises your traffic, and I don't think encrypts it.
If you need ip address means you can get the ip address here http://www.ip-details.com/ and also get the ip details, internet speed test,etc........
