I had some good advice from an earlier question so I phoned the local computer shop to ask if I could run my broadband using a usb/ethernet converter connected to the usb port and he said no I would have to buy the card. Any advice on the easiest way to do it, cheers

i could tell you, but heres a good link instead make sure you understand it all or print it off before you shut down. http://www.dur.ac.uk/its/services/network/lan/ install_network_card/
I think you need to buy the ethernet card
The item I linked to in your previous question (the one wideboy linked to), is exactly what you need. If you don't want to buy it online, then any decent computer store will have one. PC World should too, but I'd imagine it'll be more expensive there. If you know of a local radioshack, they might sell them.
