please help, i am new to burning films onto dvd, i have downloaded a film which is a avi can someone please tell me how i can convert it to dvd, i am pulling my hair out

It's not clear from your question exactly what it is that you're trying to do. If you simply want to copy the .AVI file to a DVD (so that the DVD is used for storage and you can play it on your PC) then all you need to do is to follow the instructions for your burning software. (If you're having problems with this, please post again and tell us which software you're using).

If, on the other hand, you're trying to make a DVD which will play on a DVD player (rather than via your PC), you need to convert the file to a suitable format before burning it. This software seems to be the sort of thing you'll need:

Hi go to PC world and get this software INTERNET movies 2 by X-oom it will just about convert any movie format inc mobile.when converting do you have more than 10gb hard space on pc as min also 512 ram as min.also note try not to use pc when converting as it may slow right down or crash.hope this helps
The best software Ive found for converting AVI to MPEG2(dvd) is DVD Santa, and its free, BitTorrent, Limewire etc is your best bet.
