Burning DVDs

I've only just got around to burning a couple of DVDs. I've discovered most DVD-R discs are 4.7Gb or 120mins. How do I burn a 2-hour film onto a disc? I managed to get the burner to compress the film but the quality is too low. Are there any larger DVD-Rs available? Not the dual layer ones because I expect they require a different type of burner. If not, are there any other tricks to compress the film but keep it good quality? Many thanks.

If you use DVD Shrink it will compress the video to just fit the blank DVD and you shouldn't notice any drop in quality.

It also provides a link to download DVD shrink, which is freeware.
