I have some VHS and Hi8 camcorder videos taken in Canada. Does anybody know a cheap method or product to convert them to the Canadian NTSC system?

This website http://www.worldvision.org/worldvision/communique.
nsf/stable/videoprices.htm converts
VHS tapes to NTSC tapes ' and the service is very cheap. However, it doesn't quote for pre-recorded tapes so you would have to contact them personally for a quote. Alternatively you could buy a video recorder that converts tapes for you. Check out http://www.sonic.net/soundscape/aiwa_vid.html, this site gives information on a multisystem VCR that allows you to do this, with an inbuilt signal converter. Alternatively, you could buy the Emerson EWW-7070 VCR that converts any tapes and works with any video standard in the world. You can buy this on Yaboo at http://store.yahoo.com/jandr/eme-eww7070.html.
