Can anyone tell me how to transfer a tape recording to the Audacity prog. I have managed to get the tape made into a CD and copied this into Windows Media Player and also Realplayer but cant get this into Audacity. When I open the file with Audacity I only get noise. Do I have to turn it into MP3 and if so How! going Bonkers -Blueshada

Either play the tape and run a lead from the output socket of the tape player to the input socket of your soundcard, then record the "line in" bit on Audacity or convert the CD to mp3 and import it into Audacity.

To rip the CD to mp3, I use a prog called freeripmp3
