l`m not that clever with p.c`s , l`ve downloaded the free version of google earth, but l`m finding that l have to `find` locations myself, when l`m sure there is a quicker way of doing it .. also... why are some areas `scrambled`

Google Earth is is somewhat a "world" site (in more ways than one) but being American, there are a lot of places not in their search database. For instance you can find London easy, but search for an area just outside by name, it won't know it. Best thing is, as you said, to find it, and then save as one of your places.

As for the areas being scrambled as you put it, it just means they have no higher resolution photo's available.
