Hi.
Had the same problem myself last night. Try turning off at the socket for 10-20 seconds then turn on again. When(and if) it works it should take you to the sky customer channel. It should then be working ok. If this does not work you may have to ring Sky and explain that you have already switched the unit off as this is the standard advice given by them. Hope the above helps

thnx rosekat,
i thought that would be the answer ill have to give them a ring then it sounds like i need a new one then it is seven years old after all
cheers for your help tho ;~)
No problem. Good luck
that's interesting .... I had the same problem with mine as well! wonder if they are doing something!

Mine started working after switching off at the mains, but it made loads of whirring noises first! :-)
Can I ask another question related to this please? About what time yesterday evening did you have the problem? I ask because we set our DVD to record at 7.30, went out and whe we came back it hadn`t continued to record through the whole programme.

Thanks in advance.
The problem occured at about 6pm. I had tiny pops on( i have very young children! ) and when i changed channels all i got was " No satellite signal being recieved". All the channels were the same except for Tiny pops (Ch620)
Thanks for telling me of a problem I did not know I had ..till now !
Thanks Rosekat. I guess our problem must have been something different. It was worth a try!
VERY interesting !!
Mine did this on Saturday, and after doing the usual swithing off, removing the card, switching back on and replacing the card, it still stayed on the red light. I rang them and was told to switch off at the mains, then press the back up button keeping it held in whilst you switch it back on at the mains. Keep the back up button pressed and 3 lights should come up on the digibox screen. This didn't work so I was told it was kapput and needed an engineer at a cost of 65 !
As I was going to get Sky+ this Christmas anyway, I've decided to upgrade now rather than paying to get this repaired. Sounds like there's more to this than coincidence now though.
My sky+ box does this all the time. it trips out and you cant do anything with it. also the hard drive shuts down for no reason. i'm on my 3rd box now, so dont think that upgrading to sky+ will resolve the problems you are having
I had the same problem last Wednesday at 6pm - resulting in my getting a Sky + box on Friday - coincidence or not ?
What do you think ?
Is there any way that Sky could destroy boxes at will ?
I wouldn't be surprised. i know if you record programs and then your signal goes you cant watch what you've recorded. so they have control of your box. anything is possible.
