How do I change the font of my questions/answers. I don't seem to be able to change font colour or type in bold or italics. I've seen other people do it (well font colour at least) is there a trick I'm missing? Thanks.

I can't help you wi the colour but for bold, type < B >< /B > wi the word in between and no space between the > or < and for italics replace the "B" wi an "I". I have to show it wi spaces or it won't show.
We havn't got the colour option anymore :-(

Read "AB Editor's Blog" over there, one titled "Bye bye RT".
In their infinite wisdom, the technologically advanced team here at ab (i.e. brother blank and brother bland) decided that the options to post in italics, emboldened font, or underline, was unnecessarily power zapping, they held their bi-annual let's **** the abers off conference behind the hallowed walls of the monastery, and came up with the controversial but enforceable solution, to do away with them. There are now a set of complex, confusing and conflicting methods of producing what was hitherto the simplest of posting options. on a more personal note, i dont like it.
Now come on dot there was research done and on the 13thJune, ABE gave a breakdown of the formatting of the previous 100,000 answers and the total came to 12.18%. A week later in her Blog she said less than 8% contained any formatting. At that rate, there would have been no answers wi formatting by July 4th (spooky eh?)
what did you just do corbyloon my brain frazzled!!!!! does that mean i can use italics now?
Yeah dotty you can- see TCL's 1st post ^^^^

It's just a bit too technical for me now, and each time iv'e tried to write in bold or italics since the big changeover, it's changed each subsequent post after mine in that particular font style :-(
Thr important bit is to make sure you put a "/" before the letter in the "< >" after the word(s) otherwise everthing that follows, including other posts, will be underlined or in bold or italics
Spelling "the" correctly, helps too...
TCL your last post just looks way to hard to decipher. lol
I'm going to type the following:

< B > BOLD < /B >

but with no spaces.

BOLD

It works! So what if I want bold and italics and red?
Steve, for italics write i instead of b; for underscore write u. (You can combine these if you want). But the colours have gone for good.
When jno says you can combine bold and italic, that means < U >< I > < /U >< /I >.
bold
It didn't work for me !!!
Try again bold
got it !! hallelujah!
Corby, I don't think you can overlap your nesting. Tags have to be closed in the reverse order to the way they were started. Instead of

< U >< I > message < /U >< /I >

I think you need to use

< U >< I > message < /I >< /U >

o' course wi'oot ony spaces

Incidentally, it doesn't matter if you use UPPERCASE or lowercase for the tags.
Eh ! !

I've justed tested the tag nesting in preview and both work. The order doesn't matter in answers.

It obviously IS important in questions because they didn't work for TCL in the title of his post here last week.

Corby's old post

I put them in any order but I think that it may be that formatting isn't possible in the title itsel. I can't mind on whether we could format the old way or no.
