One way to do it is in Winamp. Load the mp3s then right-click on 'misc', select 'misc' from list and 'generate html playlist'. It opens a window with all tracks listed and you can copy and paste into word or anywhere.
Go to http://no-nonsense-software.com/freeware/ and download PrintFolder. Their latest is V1.2, but I have to say my favourite and the one I still use is V1.1a. I think you'll find this is exactly what you want. There's also a ScreenGrab program. Both free.
Or without downloading or installing anything get a dos prompt change to your my music directory cd c:\mydocu~1\mymusi~1 then type dir /b/s >mymp3.txt you will then have a file called mymp3.txt in the root of your my music folder which contains a listing of all your mp3 files

Thankyou all for your help,I will be trying them today.
Good as it was, the problem with Phantaxus' suggestion is that it is restricted to DOS' 8.3 naming convention. How about doing screen captures (Print Screen for the whole screen or Alt + Print Screen for the active window) and pasting them into a word document? Unfortunately, as they are saved as bitmap files you will not be able to edit the entries.
Top stuff worker!!.....just DL'ed that little program and can now let friends see my 2,500 collection of mp3's much easier...cheers!
sft42: Gosh!
If that's sarcasm Worker there's really no need.....I was only trying to show some appreciation for your tips even though it wasn't me how asked the question....Most users wouldn't have bothered and if you don't want thanks in the future I'll not bother....If it's not then ignore..as discussed before it's very hard to judge tone in the written word :>)
No, sft42, that definitely WASN'T sarcasm; it was just light-hearted embarrassment and was meant as embarrassed gratitude. But I have to say I can't for the life of me see how you read sarcasm into it anyway. I was going to apologise if I caused offence, but I still can't see how I did.
sft42: I have to agree with the comments worker made. I couldn't see anything wrong in that comment either. You must have a very warped sense of the English language if you thought that was sarcastic. I had no difficulty in sensing its mild humour and read it exactly as it was intended with no doubt in my mind whatsoever. And besides, what if it was? You got what you wanted; are you so shallow you have to be on top all the time? I noticed that very small proviso at the end of your message which suggested more than a modicum of doubt in your mind. Couldn't you have given him the benefit of that doubt? Can I suggest that in future you make sure before you start your acidic tirade and bite the hand that feeds you?

Just like to say thankyou Worker. Printfolder worked a treat. Thanks again.
Thanks rarll. Glad I was able to help.
Keeping your head down sft42? I should. I for one, and I hope others will as well, remember you the next time you need assistance.
