The card which I have registered with paypal is due to expire soon however I have just tried to change the expiry date (as I got an email telling me to enter the new expiry date) and have noticed my card number has also changed and the old one doesnt work.

I have recently paid for a few items using paypal & was wondering why the money hadn't gone out of my bank. Obviously now I know why but what will happen?

Will my bank see I have tried to make a payment using my old card number and transfer it to my new one or will the payment not go through to the seller?

(hope this is clear enough to understand!)

Whichever card is current - payments will only be allowed if those exact details are submitted to the bank. Your bank won't allow payments if you use the wrong card. e.g. using one which has a "valid from" date of Aug 06

I think that you'll need to put the original details back into paypal so that they're as they used to be, then change to the new details only once your old card's expiry date has actually passed.

If I enter the card verification number and the new expiry date for the registered card though, it says that that card has been refused by the bank, however I have made paypal payments with it. (It says they are complete)

Now I have my new card though the card no. is different and no money for the paypal payments have gone out of my bank.

If I register with my new card, will the money be taken out then?
