System tray icons

Can someone please help me? Simple question, sometimes my system tray icons dont display near the clock on boot... and sometimes they do. Its driving me nuts! Iv left if for a while to see if there is a pattern (they are not autohiding) but i cant figure it out! HELP!!! PM.

Right click on a spare place on your taskbar (where programs usually are.

Select properties.

Click customize.

You can now edit the behaviour of the icons.

Whether they appear or not depends on if the service is active or not.
