I have just downloaded 7 tracks from Tesco and want to copy them to a cd so then I can transfer them to my iPod.However,I keep getting a notice saying they cannot be copied because of the licensing. At the moment they are stuck in My Music and I cannot transfer them to a cd. How can I go about this please ?

You should be able to do it using itunes?

On the Tesco download site it says they are not compatible with iTunes
If they play in windows media player, can you burn them to a standard audio disc using that?

this is basically why I advise people to never buy stuff from "legal music stores" like this. if you want to purchase digital music, buy from http://www.allofmp3.com and download in mp3 format. that way you can do whatever you want with it.

tesco music store, the iTunes music store, etc. all put DRM onto your music, which infringes on your own rights to do what you want with the stuff you've bought.

I have tried to burn them on to anaudio disc but the license thing just appears.
Looks like you are right fo3nix
cas: unfortunately, sounds to me like you're stuck (unless there's some illegal hack about on the internet).

Yes I think so too - many thanks anyway
Just letting you know cas49, that although fo3nix recommended a good site for downloads, it had now been classified as illegal. See http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/50518 26.stmfor details. Therefore, if you are going to download illegally, why pay for the privilege? Just use something like bearshare lite, and do a spyware and virus scan once a week (something which you should be doing anyway). I've had bearshare lite for a few years, and if you are just downloading mp3s, you should be fine.
