I've bought a bluetooth dongler to connect my phone to my laptop. All the connectivity is okay but cant work out how to send am mp3 from media player to my phone. Are there any other folders on my laptop where the content of media player would be stored?

You need to open the file's containing folder. You can do this using explorer and finding it or right click on the track in Media Player and select Open containing folder. Once you've found the file copy it to your phone via the blutooth explorer.
