i use Zone Alarm and Spy Doctor - despite using them, I am still getting an icon with a messege saying that I have a virus - its really getting to me ! I have scanned my pc several times with these applications but i still get that dreaded messege. Please help anyone...
Antivirus progs wont detect spyware. If your anti spyware program does'nt get rid of it do a google search for HIJACKTHIS

When you get your HijackThis log you can post it here and they'll advise you

I had the same problem recently, the way I cured it was to do a System Restore to a point before the problem started.
A lot of these are just pop-ups that appear, if you close them immediately then they dont actually "kick in" and infect your PC.
These are similar to any advertising pop-ups and all they want you to do is click on the link and "buy" their programme - it doesnt necessarily mean you ARE infected.
As mentioned above though, its always worth doing a frequent run of Adaware, Spybot etc.etc.
