Anyone know what I need to do? I have a large file that I want to share with someone, but it is too big to send as a mail. I believe there is some way a direct connection can be made but don't know any more.

http://www.yousendit.com/ has a 1Gb limit on a single email and is free

Just to clarify, I have XP and broadband, and I'm assuming the other party has the same (don't know yet)

I know there is a way to link one computer to another for diagnostic purposes, so I would assume it would also be possible to link two independent computers in order to share a file.

Two ways:

- Send up to 2GB free with this site, and then just send the link by email to your friend, who can download it from them:
http://www.sendover.com/

- Both install limewire. Has a direct connection setting on it which allows you to do what you want.
http://www.limewirepro.net.tc/

The former is less hassle though.

Cheers. I have limewire and have sent them a mail suggesting that (though I have never used it) but I am waiting to hear from them. They want the file from me, so to my mind, it will really be down to them if I can't find a way.

As for the other thing, I may try that once I hear from them. Ta again
