I've seen the Nokia photos and they are very disappointing as, I imagine, are most of them. This is because the resolution of the cameras are very low. I think they are a bit of a gimmick rather than a David Bailey necessity.
I'd wait a while sideymun, at least until they've invented one that lets you receive a picture that bears more than a passing resemblance to the one that was sent. My guess is that if no-one has shown you seen how poor the picture quality is not many of your friends have them yet and you don't need one.
and furthermore I'd ignore the word "seen" in line 4 of my answer or it will make no sense at all!
They are a novelty at the moment. The companies are looking for a group of consumers who are willing to pay the extra costs. It is looking that the young single adult is the target. In Japan the pick up has been slow for this extra and it is about 2 years ahead of Europe in this field. Lots of TV cm for them usually young people at home calling their sweetheart at work with longing faces and guys visiting home towns and bumping into old friends and taking photos. I suppose porn sites are going to love this medium once enough people have them.
They aren't that bad. I have the 7650, and although the photo quality is a bit poor, they're still good fun! Not a necessity by any means though. You should really wait for the new G3 phones coming out this year, which can do video, photo, and all other phone like things...
