Google Earth downloading new areas

How can you choose which areas GE downloads in hight detail? It seems to automatically download rondom areas.Theres specific places id like to look at which are still low detail and i cant work out how to get them.

I don't think you can, I cannot even see my house on Anglesey but I can see my sister in laws fish pond in her back garden in Blackpool!
Southend-on-sea has quite incredible detail I've found.
It all depends on what aerial photo's have been taken. Where I live just outside London, the detail is good, but go just a bit east towards Romford and it is poor.
You can't choose which areas are high res in Google Earth. If high resolution photography has been taken for an area, then it will be "stitched" into the database by Google and will be streamed to your computer when you look at that area. If this hasn't been done for the area you want to look at, you'll just get the blotchy green low res photos. Just keep checking back, they might add your area some day! I'm still waiting for mine too.
