bleeping computer

my computer has make a bleeping noise when i try and turn it on. it is not the fan as this is still spinning. the only thing i have noticed is the moniter green light flashing, i dont get to see any text or anything flashing on the screen itself. could it just need a new moniter or could it be more serious?

Alright, I reckon it must be a BIOS warning, meaning there's some peice of critical hardware failing, like perhaps your Grahpics card.

i agree with omiwan--certain beep patterns mean different things--and are different depending on the bios u have--check this site

thanks for that , still not sure what my exact problem is, i have a beep that lasts for about 2.1/2 seconds with a 1.1/2 second gap (continually)
