Hi, I run Firefox and 'Clear All' via the options drop down everyday and also 'Delete cookies' and 'delete Files' in IE just to be sure.

I still get auto complete when logging into some sites though?
I run McAfee, Adaware, Spybot S+D and MS Defender daily.

Why are these still auto completing - I thought that was what cookies were?

I ask because previously all my problems stemmed from the 'Cookies' or 'Temporary Internet files' folders when I was on Win 98.

I've had a trawl through C-Windows and found 'twunk 16' and 'twunk 32' together with 'Twain_32.dll' which I've googled and found to be potentially harmful but the aforementioned apps don't get rid of them.
If I try to delete them manually they just reappear within a few seconds.

Any Help anyone and be gentle with my numptiness please!

Many thanks.

When you click on clear all, certainly in v1.5.0.1 this is the case, there is a list of personal details to clear. Make sure that you select everything in the list before clicking "clear private data now".
The twunk and twain files are scanner interface files. They are supposed to be there.
Autocomplete does not rely on cookies, but on the browser storing information that you have typed. You need to turn off the "Save Information I type into web forms and the Search bar" in firefox. (I'me not sure how you do that in 1.5 as I have 1.0.7)
