I've bought an album off iTunes and backed it up to lend to a friend but when he inserts the cd into his machine the full track list and artwork comes up but he can't import any of the tracks as there's no selection boxes next to the tracklist!! It plays ok but the 'import' icon on the top right doesn't appear when the cd's in the drive, it's just the 'browse' button! It's ok with other cd's though!

Is there a way around this or not?

Thanks!

do not buy from the iTunes Music Store.

music on there (as with most other online stores) is infected with something very bad, called DRM. basically, it stops you from using your music the way you want to.

to get past this with the music you've alraedy bought, click edit->preferences->advanced->burning, and set it to audio CD. then burn your album onto a CD, and now it should be made into an audio CD. which should work in your friend's computer.
