Bush tv/dvd combi widescreen suddenly stopped working!

My 28" Bush tv/dvd combo (bush dvd660tvsil) was working perfectly until last night. It turned itself off and now when you press the power button in order to switch it on, all that happens is that the led alternates between red & green but the tv does not switch on. I am led to believe that the fault is down to a faulty transistor. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
