Desktop Is Taking Up About 20% Of The Screen

When I go to Google, I see only about 75% of the screen and cannot get to see the RH side.

Henry, I may be misunderstanding you, but have you tried simply clicking somewhere on the grey bar across the top of the Google window and dragging the window across to the left?

Clicking on the grey area simply alows increase to the size of text.

Since 25% of the RH side of the panel is 'missing' it's not posible to get at the three vertical dots. 

does clicking ctrl 0 help? (that's the number not the letter)

Almost accidentally, the remedy was found by rt clicking a blank space in the Toolbar - and up came a menu including an invite to maximise.
