What are you charging?

Sounds like a faulty connection at either the charger plug or the device socket.

dell  laptop

Best try a different charger or a different laptop to discover whether it's the plug or the socket causing it. Once discovered you have the option of replacing the problem item.

(Ever since the idiots designing mobile phones decided they didn't need a separate charging socket as they could make do with the data port, a poor charging connection becomes a common occurrence on them after a while. You have to wriggle the connection, and try not to accidently move it while it is charging. I consider it a built-in obsolescence scam.)

I had the same problem, turned out it was a slack charging port.  My local repair shop charged me around £20 to replace it

OG, you will find laptops are also moving to usb charging.  I had a dell that did that four years ago, so did the HP's we bought for the company.

More evidence of the world going to hell in a handbasket.
