I am a techno-divvy. Earlier today I was encouraged to upgrade my ancient PC from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I failed. I am now unable to access my Outlook/Hotmail e-mails. I can go through the enter e-mail address and password process but after attempting to load I get 'Something went wrong' and the instruction to refresh brings me back to this. All other websites appear to be fine. HELP!

The first thing to try is clearing your web browser's cache. (If you need instructions, please tell us which browser you're using). Alternatively, just try a different browser in order to find out if the problem is with your regular one.
PS: I'm assuming that you're using webmail. If you're using the Window 10 Mail client (or something like Thunderbird), please let us know.

Hi, Buenchico. I cleared my web browser's cache but no joy. Can you suggest a different browser to Google?
If you were looking for a permanent replacement for Chrome (which is what I assume that you mean by 'Google'), I'd suggest Slimjet, which is what I use:
https://www.slimjet.com/

(If you decide to give it a go, my post at the foot of this page might well help you to set it up the way you like: https://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Technology/Question1729580.html )

However if you're simply trying to see if it's Chrome that's causing the problem for you, you might just as well use Edge, simply because it's already on your computer.

It could be a password problem though, so it might be worth resetting your password (if you actually find an option to do so so, such as "I've forgotten my password" - I absolutely HATE Hotmail/Outlook!).

Alternatively, you could try configuring the Windows Mail app to access your email account that way. (I'm no great fan of that app either but at least it's already on your computer).
Personally I use Firefox and I find the issues are very rare, it also has a very good range of add ons and imports profiles very well.
I stopped using Firefox years ago because it was so resource hungry.

I hope changing browsers sorts your problem, silvertaff
