I really don't know what gummies are. I imagine them like Rowntree fruit gums with cannabis oil added. Am I anywhere near right?

Please don't zap me!
General description for chewy "sweets" as far as I can tell. Could have any ingredients. You probably need to read the label :-)

Are they legal?
Question Author
I've tried cbt oil, with no results at all.
I quite liked the woody earthy taste, but ì haven't got a sweet tooth, so won't be trying gummies!
You can get vitamin ones!

I think I've now prompted a gummy troll!

I'd rather just take a tablet Sharon!
I'd imagine that they are like haribo sweets...maybe mot sweet though?
Has any Aber tried them I wo der?
CBD has no effect in the levels found in these sweeties.
Interesting question, MissT, I’ve wondered much the same myself.
Why do we get so many ads for them if they’re not legal, and who buys them??
Cannabis contains THC, which gives one the 'high' and is illegal. and CBD, which seems to have various medical effects (including pain relief) and is perfectly legal.

Therefore CBD gummies are also perfectly legal and widely available on the High Street. e.g. https://www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/vitamins-supplements/cbd/?t=productformat_gummies

A look there at the prices that CBD gummies sell for will show you why there's a potential major profit for people selling them online, even if what they sell actually contains very little (if any) CBD oil.
Are the ones on the high street better quality and are they actually worth purchasing?
From the Harvard University website:
"according to a Gallup poll in August of 2019, about 14% of Americans report using CBD products, and the number one reason is pain. The Arthritis Foundation conducted its own poll and found that 29% reported current use of CBD (mostly in liquid or topical form), and nearly 80% of respondents were either using it, had used it in the past, or were considering it. Of those using it, most reported improvement in physical function, sleep, and well-being; of note, a minority reported improvement in pain or stiffness"

Have a listen to the Radio 4 programme "sliced bread" when they investigated CBD products.

Are they helpful for anxiety?
^^^ A 2015 study found that CBD can be useful in the treatment of anxiety, Naomi:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4604171/
(Scroll down to 'Conclusions')

However research into CBD is still incomplete and, while some people say that it works wonder for them, others say that they've found it to be useless.
^^^ To the best of my knowledge (supported by what's actually available in stores such as Holland & Barrett), the most common way to take CBD is still to use the oil directly (rather than in gummies), with a few drops under one's tongue.

See

Many thanks chris.
I've thought of trying it...joints and relaxation. But I'd never know what to look for.

Pasta I tried 2 strengths of it from Holland and Baratt, neither worked for my pain or anxiety. I have friends who swear by it.
It often sounds like an either/or thing. I'm sure with my luck, I'd be wasting my money.
I'm not sure I'd buy from H and B...I'd go speak to someone in the local independent health food shop.
