Windows ME Problems

I have a laptop which is running windows ME. Problem e.g If I have the google home page on the screen, i can type in the address bar to find other websites etc but i can type in the google search bar. Its the same on other websites, if there are boxes to type in i cant type in them... any ideas???

SORRY, that should say CANT type in the google search bar!!!
