I;m due a new card in May and I do not want Contactless. People have told me I will have to ACCEPT Contactless. Last time bank did send me Contactless but I contacted them and told them to send me non-contactless. Will I be able to do this time. that reads like a riddle

i think you can ask your bank to send you a non contactless card, you could ring them and ask...
Yes, contact them.
Tell them now that you will not accept a contactless card.
There are downsides to having to enter your PIN all the time - worth a thought.

Last time I was able to call into bank - about another query - the assistant there blatantly told me my next card will definitely be contactless and to accept it.
But can't a contactless card be used in the normal way also?
Are you worried about it getting stolen and used?
Email your bank.

Ich - I have lost my card too much for contactless - pin number keeps me safe.
Email them.
e mail bank, or better still phone them for advice.
What is the thing you NEVER lose, Jenny. Keep your card with it.

Santander have done away with their email service and use a "bot" for queries.
Possibly,
On the other hand the more often you use your PIN, the more likely you are to have someone nick it. Depends how you use your card I suppose.
If you use online banking you'll be able to disable the contactless feature.
then phone them... and explain your problem.
jenny - ring them FREE on 0800 9123 123
If you asked for non-contactless last time they will probably remember and send you the same type of replacement. My bank did but I'm not with Santander. Not all banks will supply non-contactless cards.
I have 'spoken' to the Santander chat bot and this is what it said:
You can turn off contactless payments in the Santander mobile banking app by selecting ‘More’ then ‘Cards’ and ‘Freeze and manage card’. From here, you can manage your card controls.

Err Barry - am unsure what you are saying but just want to say don't have mobile phone or apps, if I need to use that system. All I have is the computer here.

Maybe I'll take a loathed trip into town and call with them or will I have to make an appointment for that too.
jenny - ring them on the number I gave above ^^
