I am getting an error message "Use the windows 95 control panel to add printer" Can someone tell me what this means? I recently changed my PC to an ACER but i cannot install my printer, i am getting the above error message. I have downloaded the correct drivers from HP, my printer is the Deskjet 670c. I have tried changing the cable to see if that was faulty, but it wasn't, and took the printer to a friend who was running win 2000, and his laptop found it straightaway. Any ideas Please?!!!

try adding your printer manually ,by going to Control panel in Control panel , double click on ADD NEW HARDWARE then select the type of your printer from the list of printers displayed. this shpould probably solve ur problem
Do you have software conflicts with your Win95? If you have no joy at all with installing it, make sure that your Win95 was installed onto a clean hard drive, otherwise you could have conflicts that leave it unable to recognise some peripherals...........if that's what's happened to you then all you can really do is back up your information, re-format the hard drive, and re-install Win95 yourself. If everything is running ok otherwise though, then that's not it, so don't lose all your info if you don't have to :)
