Earlier today, I got the paper jammed and had to go into the back of the printer to pull it out. Now it isn't printing. I checked the ink levels and changed one that was showing low, but it still isn't printing. Any ideas why? Thanks.

That should read Canon MG5650.
Did you manage to get all the paper out, Barsel?
Question Author
Yes Tilly it came out smoothly and complete. x
Ok. What is the computer telling you about your printer?
Question Author
Nothing Tilly . I put the paper in press print, it sounds like its printing but the paper comes out blank, nothing on it. I've checked all the inks and they are all ok. Just checking the drivers now but that takes a while so going to get my tea while it's doing that.
Have you turned it off and taken out the plug and left it for a while? That might work.
Did you press OK on the printer LCD display buttons after clearing the jam?
If there is a support code showing after pressing OK your manual will tell you what to do or a search online gives you resolutions for the various codes.
It may be a silly question but did you take the little tape off the new cartridge. Then run all the various cleanups.
Question Author
CrapAtCryptics Not a silly question at all, but yes I have checked all the inks and the ink is coming through but somehow not registering with wherever it's supposed to register.I've done everything I can think of now including reinstalling but it's just refusing to print and not telling me why. Have gone through the troubleshooter also but, nothing. It won't print a test page so I'm hoping that someone might know why it doesn't seem to do what is asked on command.
sounds like there maybe still a tiny piece of paper still in printer maybe you could get it out with some tweezers.
♫ It's a mystery. ♫ :-)

Question Author
No paper still trapped but, I've gone through ALL the maintenance checks and it is now printing but in blue and not the usual black. Still, at least it's printing. Have had enough of it for now, but if someone can explain how to get back to black ink printing, I'd be most obliged. Strangely though, the ink that was showing low that I changed was the black ink. Tilly ♫ It's a mystery. ♫ :-) I've just told it its going in the bin if it doesn't stop being silly.

Forgot to say thanks to all for your help. x
go into maintenance and run all the tasks ie cleaning etc.if that does not work uninstall the printer and remove the drivers, reboot the pc and then reinstall the canon software and printer
A toyra moment then?
some of the things happened to me - couldn't ink to work even tho fresh ink, cleaned and cleaned in properties you when control and p and go into properties of that.

picture was patchy. but after not using the printer for about 2 weeks cos I didn't need it - it is back to normal. turn it off for a wee while.
@cleggie I would recommend even going deeper.
Reformat the hard drive, reinstall Windows, followed by your suggestions of course.

Perhaps there's a scrap of paper still stuck in there blocking a sensor.
A 50 MB driver can go haywire because of some subtle coding error.
Anyway, talk to Canon instead of some random people on a website.

I`d recommend deleting all the driver files and then reloading the latest driver files from Canon for the printer.
