If I have it’s myself to blame, I was on FB which every so often is top heavy with ads,but one caught my eye, it was for a mobile photostick ,there were 3 options,all having different memory, I opted it for the 128gb which was £64-99 however I thought it said 40 per cent off which brought it down to around £47 something, why I didn’t use my MasterCard or Paypal I don’t know but I used my debit card,I got the confirmation email and the amount was fit £106-99 or theirs about ,it was actually in US dollars, it was for two sticks and the 40per cent off was when you bought one for full price and another for the cheaper price
Diluting this epic fail down a bit, I’ve emailed them and recieve an automated response with a link to chat which doesn’t work
Yep well and screwed :0{

You haven't been scammed; you just didn't read the small print, I'm afraid.

Today’s never been a good one,a leaking garage roof now this, I think I’ll go and lie down in a darkened room
On a similar vein, i recently bought on of those flea 'zapper' combs as my little JR, Milo was troubled so much by them, he was drawing blood. I only read the one review (a five star one, doncha know) and parted with the money. Said comb arrived about a week later and i threw 2 new batteries in it, sat Milo down and promised him i'd get rid of all his problems. Then i began to comb his fur............................................and zapped nothing. Zilch. Nada. And, whether the fleas in Burnley are a lot tougher than elsewhere, i know not, but one of the blighters actually hitched a lift on the metal teeth of the comb - you know, the bit where the electrical charge is meant to zap them - all the way from head to tail before it hopped off. Not even a tip! When Amazon asked for a review, they got one. A terrible one.......................to join all the other terrible ones i didn't read beforehand The comb cost just over £14 but a visit to the vets to rectify the problem cost £75:-(

Ken, we live and learn the hard way
In a similar vein but different price range my door bell stopped working today, did my normal thing and searched Amazon sure enough £5 free p & p reviews were really poor. Suddenly decided to check Argos £8.00 will go with Argos at least some come back if I do have problems.
I think internet shopping can become a habit sometimes, and I must admit have done my share in the past, but not anymore. I made a rule to myself and have stuck to it. If what I want ( and most times it is) is available in the shops, then I don't use the internet, to much messing about sending things back for one reason or another, its so easy just to take back to the shop and get an immediate refund / change. The last time I shopped on internet was about 3 years ago, and had to wait 30 days for a refund, along with many calls to get it.
There again, on the odd occasion that I've had a refund (from amazon), it's been within hours...before the item has been returned.
