the 100 dollar laptop

Just seen images of MITs new laptop for the poor costing a mere 100 usd. I must say it looks very good, does anybody know will they be available in western countries, I dont see any mention anywhere that they will.

They need millions of orders from thrid world countries before they make it!

There is a big difference between a laptop which is made for $100 and one that retails for $100, if they are available they would cost more than the $100 quoted, but even so it's not like a normal laptop, it doesn't have anything like the spec of the current laptops out there, it's literally something that people can use to connect to the internet and basic functions.

Well even if they were to be sold in western countries I doubt very much, like wowo says, they would be sold for a 100 dollars. Besides do you really want to crank the lever every time your batteries are low?
