What type of device are you trying to print from? (A Windows PC/laptop or something else, such as an iPad or Android phone?)

Have you opened the file in a suitable pdf reader first? (For Windows PCs Adobe Reader is the best known software but that's only because Adobe invented the PDF format; it's horrid, clunky software, which is best avoided. Foxit is the most popular alternative, and worthy of the praise lauded upon it, but my own preference is to use Sumatra PDF).

If you received the file by email (or otherwise downloaded it), did you save it before opening it? (That's always safest thing to do. Then, instead of opening it from your email, open it from the location where you saved it to).
