my HP is useless and died, it won't print at all.
I have a dell inspiron laptop, not that matters but i don't
want another useless HP printer which is what seems to be on offer
it has to be wireless so i can finally print out documents
etc and copy of course, it doesn't have to be a scanner
but if its three in one ok.
it has to be black in colour.

I'm using a Canon PIXMA TS5050 with no problems. However, make sure you get updated drivers/etc from the Canon uk support site first.

look at Canon, very good
Question Author
ok, do they do both colour and black ink, and do you have to buy cannon inks?
Question Author
could you recommend any from amazon? as that is likely where i will buy one.
HP 2540, superb machine. Ink cartridges a lot cheaper than cannon.
Question Author
thanks sparkly but don't want another HP, the one i had isn't that old, but its stopped printing, and there is plenty of ink in it.
I have used HP printers for 20 years without a single problem.
Canon MG7550. One refurbished on ebay for about £100...

Wifi dead easy, 6 inks - I’ve used compatibles for many years, no problems. Light, not too hefty, 2 paper trays (at the front! - A4 and 5x7 photo paper.)

Had Canons for nigh on 20 years. Top machines.
£100 second hand, ridiculous.
I loathe HP, have never had one without problems. I wouldn't touch a refurb with someone else's bargepole. You don't have to use Canon inks although I do because I don't do much printing. As with all printer brands, using non brand inks will invalidate you guarantee, so maybe better to stick to branded ones till the guarantee expires.

i found a wireless canon all in one printer for 65 quid. is that a good deal, with postage works out about 75 quid new.
what about the ink? are they difficult to get hold of.
E£pson 215 SX is one to keep away from
Terribly expensive inks
The cartridges have a microprocessor in them and many of the users think that the firm sends out messages - fail now whatever!

I took on two from a neighbour - who was dead - I can see now why he died
which model emmie?
My Epsom 445 works ok for me
Question Author
Canon PIXMA TS5150 3-in-1 Printer - Black
does that mean the casing is black or that it's multi coloured, not sure.
Question Author
it has to have black and colour printing, be wireless,
this looks ok. If i can find the same one on amazon.
but unsure about the cartridges.
hmmmm.....the low scores on this one are for problems setting it up with wifi.....I'd look for one that has better set up scores
Question Author
that's a pity as almost bought it off Amazon.
What have you got against
SparklyKid's £39 Amazon one?

Seems a snip to me.
It is an absolute belter, no probs at all.
