Skype - Upgrade

Just had what seems to be an official message from Skype inviting me to instal version 8 on IPad as version 7 will no longer be supported from November. It looks like there's a lot of chatter on the internet about the upgrade, but no mention of anything suspicious.

Shall I leave well alone and see what/if anything happens after November? Thanks.

8 is riddled with bugs. When I contacted Microsoft, the only advice they could give was to downgrade back to 7, which I did. Works fine, except it tells me numerous times every day that I need to upgrade to get all the improvements (of which there are precisely none).

I know someone who maintains that, after buying Skype, Microsoft have since managed to ruin it. Changes to Skype are these days of course Microsoft changes.
