Friend called round yesterday and she is not remotely interested in anything internetty. However she has fallen in love with Alexa and stated that the Alexa is now only £35. Is that correct.

While I'm on - what is the difference between Alexa and Echo - thanks

alexa is the voice behind Echo dot...
and echo of course.. different sizes/models of the same thing
An Echo (which has the voice of Alexa)is reduced to £75.00 on Amazon.

PS she tells some cracking jokes when asked!
Boo.. have you miawed at her ? hilarious..
Just have, she just asked if I wanted to enable it, as im not sure what it does, i said no, lol
Alex's comes ready installed on kindle 10. She is funny.
Sounds like partners/friends are on the way out.

I hate you Alexa!!

enable it Boo it's hilarious !
Alexa is now only £35.....you do know that you can't just get Alexa....you have to have a piece of hardware, too? eg tablet, Echo, TV etc?
Quite why anyone would allow a listening device connected to the world into their home is beyond me.

A catastrophe waiting to happen.
I wouldn't touch one with a bargepole - Panorama a couple of weeks ago just enforced my feelings.
"Big sister is listening"

Then dobbing you in.

Last thing I'd want to do is re-live my childhood with an electronic sister.
no alexa in my household if it privately records me and sends it to someone else

You not only invite a spy into your household but you pay for it as well
The inventors/marketers of this product will tell you,
"So we can ensure delivery of the products and services you require".
After all, they have our utmost desires forefront in their desire to earn.
I've just been reading about that, Quoi. I haven't got one - why would I need a robot to switch on lights for me? - but it sounds like there are still a few bugs in the system.
very useful for news, weather, travel / road reports...cinema and theatre listings..notepad for shopping..as well as the fun jokes...music etc etc

i'm with you on this who knows who's listing at anytime with out saying its name out loud. i dont trust my laptops camera / mic there set at no access.
More than welcome to spy on me, ive nowt to know, my life couldn't get any duller, She (Alexa) would get bored of listening in to our conversations etc within half an hour!
