I am going to buy an external monitor to use with my lap top.

I know there is a way to close the lid on my laptop, and for it to continue working, and not go into 'sleep' mode, but I can't remember how to do it.

If anyone can remind me of the process, I will be most grateful.

Control Panel > Power Options > Chose what closing the lid does.

well that on mine has no other option but to sleep or shut down ?
you have to press one of the "f" buttons but dont know which on yours, look it up on the web for you model
