I have just bought a little pack of the above ( raw ),as I was curious, and now I'm at a loss as to what to with them....I haven't got a clue how you cook them ! Are you supposed to boil , fry , or roast them ? If someone could give me an idea, I'd appreciate it very much. Thank you in advance !

these are my favourite veg !!!!
just pan fry in butter or marg on a gentle heat for 5 mins or so . stirring regularly . excellent in stir-fry's , or try with boiled new potato's and steamed cod or haddock .

Woohoo ! I'm having fish with it, I didn't think it would go together !

Do I just chuck them in the pan, all raw ? Do I not need to boil them a little first ? And can I cook them in the same pan as my courgettes ? Sorry, I really am clueless...lol

Thanks for your reply !

i would just do them the way i said . thats all they need , 5 mins in plenty of butter . enjoy !!!
hi max, long time no speak!! i boil mine if i am having them with fish, just for 5-10 minutes and they are scrummy, i'm not keen on them stir fried though, as they are too 'raw' tasting for me!

steam them together for few minutes, serve with salmon and new potatoes......yum yum....

also good served raw with celery, garlic n herb dip and crisps....beats popcorn anytime

I bet Im a bit late in my reply I take it these were for your dinner last night?! Oh well I pass on my favourite recipe for next time! I absolutely LOVE stir fry and bung in a mix of veg baby corn, mange tout, onion, peppers, courgettes, okra, carrot take your pick! with a clove of garlic, about 1cm square of ginger, 1 red chilli (although you can leave this out if you dont like spicy food) all chopped up, stir fry for a couple of minutes, then squeeze in the juice of 1 lime, and some soy sauce (to taste). Its gorgeous!!! I usually serve it with grilled salmon and rice. YUM!

Thank you all for your replies ! Just a wee update on last night's dinner ( fascinating , I know...lol )

I boiled the baby potatoes, and chucked the baby corn and mangetouts in the boiling water for the last 5 minutes of cooking. I then pan fried them in butter for a bit. Yummyyyyyyyyyyyyyy !!!

Will definitely try these again !

I just follow the instructions on the packaging Sorry, maximo not a personal dig at you but I do wonder if some people can be bothered to read. Glad you enjoyed them.

Er, I checked before asking Gef, and there weren't any instructions on the packet ! When there are some, I read them. Hence my posting in here. I'm glad to find that so many people are happy to help.
Maximo, I thought you would say that - it's happened to me a couple of times. Now I just make sure that when I buy something "new" that it has cooking instructions.

Stir-fry mangetout or cook it in a frying pan with butter and diced shallot / onion. The best method for babycorn is to place it in the bin, IMO
